Yellowstone Park

November 2010

Dear Friend:

Thanksgiving is a time when we make gathering with loved ones a priority, which often means travel. But while the familiar saying declares that home is where the heart is, if you’re like me, a little piece of your heart always remains within Yellowstone.

It is during this holiday of thankfulness that Yellowstone is perhaps at its most quiet and peaceful. Snow has blanketed parts of the Park. Most of the roads have been closed to cars, and are not yet open to oversnow vehicles. Most of the lodges and visitor centers are closed – some preparing to welcome guests again during the winter season. Yellowstone is getting a good rest toward the end of a year in which a record-breaking number of us visited.

Almost all of us will be away from Yellowstone for this holiday – some of us quite far away. But in thanks for your support, the Yellowstone Park Foundation is bringing a little bit of Yellowstone to you.  The link below will take you to a slideshow of Yellowstone photos, a small token of our great appreciation.  We hope it will bring fond memories to mind, and a smile to your face.

Best wishes to you and yours for a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
